Dawn’s best bits…

We decided to ask our President, Dawn Rathmell, to share one of her “favourite or funniest story/moment about Yorkshire rugby”? Many not for repetition!!! Tamer ones here…

Boxing Day Mothers and kids v fathers. I’m running down the centre of the pitch, ball under arm – 3m from try line when all of a sudden I’m face down planted in 6″ of mud – thanks to my dear husband!!!  Stand up my best friend is stood there tears rolling down her face saying “I thought about telling you he was behind you”  Comments unrepeatable.

Spent many happy hours travelling Yorkshire over the years with Graham Turnbull – we have gone round just about every roundabout in Yorkshire at least 3 times and once got lost going to Driffield RUFC because I liked the look of a lawnmower on a trailer and followed it as I decided it was going the same way as us (it wasn’t)!

Spending an hour GT driving this time going round in ever decreasing circles trying to find Ripon rugby club – we could see the posts but no idea of the way to get there.

The look on Hamish Pratt’s face when I was interviewed on Radio New Zealand and not him as a native. Don’t think he’s ever truly forgiven me for that – the fact I keep reminding him doesn’t help.

Should we ask Hamish his most memorable memories of Dawn?
